FAQ's on the '04 Maverick Line

Frequently asked Questions on the '04 Edition:

No colored carbon?  While I admit that it sure looks great, the new colored carbon fiber is actually a step down in the grade of carbon.  The outer layers are woven with fiberglass, then those fibers are colored.  Fiberglass is not near the quality of true carbon fiber.  A colored chassis will break down faster, wear out faster, and end up giving inconsistent "feedback" to the driver.

We choose to stick with the quality over the looks.

Why add a one piece chassis to the line up?  Well, because racers were asking for one.  It has less tray area flex on a banked track than slider style does.  It has less tuning options, for those who feel they don't need as many.  It has 7 cell slots, so it will work great for 4 or 6 cell racing.

Overall, it's a nice addition to our chassis line up for '04.

Transponder Mounts:  The new C-F Transponder Mount (#MOC-2000) is available separately and can be adapted to just about any chassis.  Selling at $5.99, it's made out of carbon fiber, comes with two stand-offs and can be easily adapted to work on most battery trays, bumpers, or chassis.

Too many adjustments?  Yes, we heard this one a time or two!  I agree, there are a lot of adjustments on the '04 Edition Chassis.  The nice thing about this, they are there when you want to try them!  But, you don't have to use them until you're ready.  You can lock down the front plate, in a wheelbase that matches what you've been running, and tune with the usual shock oil, springs and such ...

You do not have to use all the adjustments right off the bat!  We encourage you to take your time getting a good fast set-up, before trying things like offsetting the front end, etc ....

What parts work with the chassis?  We've designed it as a conversion kit for the L3, Factory Team L3, and the L4.  Meaning, it uses an Associated front end, t-plate, rear pod, and shocks.  But, we are finding out that other pods and parts will work also (sometimes with minor modifications).

All the hop-up, go fast goodies, that work on the L cars, will work with our chassis.  This includes parts from IRS (caster blocks, pod plates, axles), Raceway MFG (servo mounts, center shock mounts), KGB (t-plate hardware),  Wolfe (springs, king pins), Silva Concepts (spring steel t-plates), etc ...

If I'm converting from an L3, do I need any other parts?
No, you shouldn't need any extras.  You'll use all the other components off of your original chassis, the front end, t-plate, rear pod, side shock, center shock, axle, etc ...  to build up your new Maverick Oval Chassis.
